If you are travelling, you may require travel vaccines to cover you.

We offer three vaccines as per NHS which are:

  • Tetanus/Polio/diptheria
  • Typhoid
  • Hepatitis A

Other vaccines are obtainable privately, there are many travel clinics in Leeds.

Antimalarials are available via a pharmacist.

We request that you ideally book to have your vaccines at least 6 weeks before you travel, allowing the vaccine time to become effective. However, we understand that this may not be possible so will try our best to vaccinate if we can.

The website we use is the department of health website travelhealthpro.org.uk from here we can see what other vaccines you may need, and the risks involved to your health whilst visiting these countries. You may want to have a look at the website yourself before you come in.

Please fill in a travel form and submit it to the practice so our nursing team can review what you require. We then contact you to inform you of the vaccines required and when you can be booked in. We usually get patients booked in quickly, but it can take up to 2 weeks during busy periods.

Here is a list of travel clinics in Leeds:

  • Superdrug art the Merion centre, Leeds city centre
  • Woodhouse medical practice, LS6 2SF
  • Boots pharmacy, Leeds city centr

There are many other so having a look online may be helpful.

Please be aware these private travel vaccines will come with a charge.

Further information about countries and vaccinations required are on the link below:

Please download and fill in the Travel Risk Assessment Form as early as possible.

Minimum 6 weeks before travelling and email this to: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

The questionnaire will be forwarded to the nursing team, who will assess your requirements and contact you by phone and arrange any vaccinations if needed, please be mindful this can take upto 6 weeks to be contacted and then a possible 2 week wait for the appointment in busy times.

Some vaccinations will require you to be referred to a travel clinic as either these are not available via the NHS or are too complex. These will incur a charge which will be discussed through the travel clinic

Alternatively you can go direct to a travel clinic, a local clinic is based at Woodhouse Medical Practice. Please note a consultation fee of £20.00 will be charged if no vaccinations are purchased from them.
