I graduated from Birmingham University Medical School in 1989 and initially trained in hospital medicine. I have spent periods of time working in Australia and Singapore. My general practice training was undertaken in London and I moved to Yorkshire with my family in 2004.

I graduated from Leeds Medical School in 2004, having previously qualified as a dentist in 1996. I spent 10 years training in surgical specialties (mostly Maxillofacial and ENT), before changing to general practice in 2007. My particular areas of interest are ENT, dermatology and minor surgery.

Joined the practice as a salaried GP in April 2021 having previously spent 21 years as a partner in Kent and Bedfordshire. Dr Allingham did his GP training in the Army where he developed an interest in Sports and Musculoskeletal Medicine . He has held various professional leadership roles and spent 11 years as the Medical Director of Kent Local Medical Committee. He has been a GP trainer and University Lecturer in the past and still enjoys contributing to the educational activities of the practice. Dr Allingham describes himself as semi-retired and moved to Leeds to be a hands-on Grandad. When not working or child minding he keeps fit by cycling.

I joined Alwoodley Medical centre in 2018.
